Cinderella spends a lot of her time locked up in her house cleaning so it is a good thing she lives in a magical kingdom with a fairy godmother and helpful forest creatures.

The clock in the castle is an important part of the setting because conflicts arise for Cinderella and her furry friends when the clock strikes midnight.

The fact that the prince has a castle and a lot of servants is helpful in resolving his problem- trying glass slippers on every maiden in the kingdom in an effort to find Cinderella.
